LG 34UC80 Overclocking past 75hz with Freesync enabled

$

I recently got an LG 34UC80 and I'm loving it - running on a Radeon R9 Fury X. I have used CRU to get the Freesync range to 33-75 and I'm interested in overclocking the refresh up higher than 75hz. I have been been able to add additional detailed resolutions above 75hz, but when I do, the AMD settings driver reports "Freesync Not Supported."

So what am I missing? After I add the resolution, Windows allows me to select the higher refresh, but if I can't use Freesync with the higher refresh, it's not worth the trouble. Any way to get a higher refresh and still have Freesync working?

Thanks for any input you may have!

Custom refresh rates (underclock) on 144hz monitor

Hello. I'd like an hand to understand how I could get my custom set of refresh rates.

I have a 144hz monitor, but since I can't always get 144fps, I'd like to have a different set of refresh rates.

My idea was to have a choice between
144hz
132hz
120hz
108hz
96hz
84hz
72hz
60hz

My monitor only comes with standard 144hz, 120hz and 60hz.

If i try to set those custom refresh rates via CRU or Nvidia cp, it appears to work but when I try UFO test or just play a game it's obvious something's wrong. VSync just doesn't work and I have constant stutter.

I guess it's about to get the timings right other than the refresh rate and resolution : could you point me in the right direction to get these right? How do i calculate the right values based on the already existent values on the monitor?

I attached the already existent resolutions on the post. Hope it could be useful.

The monitor model is Yashi Pioneer YZ2717 but there's zero info about this on the internet (not even a single review, i blindly bought it because it was at an awesome price for the specs : 2560x1440/144hz and I'm very satisfied with the colours for a TN panel)

I like to play with v-sync but I don't always get 144fps or 120fps, even if I have a GTX 1080Ti. 108hz would already be smooth enough for me, at the moment.

refresh rate after sleep

Hello.
I've set custom refresh rate with CRU (thank you, author).
Patched AMD driver (I have Radeon card) - it makes custom refresh rate work on Windows boot.
But on wake after sleep refresh rate is still 60 Hz.
Is there solution?

Monitor extremely blurry at 75hz LCD Standard

Hi, I have a Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 connected to a Radeon HD 5870 through a DVI-D DL cable.

In LCD Reduced (164.61MHz) mode my monitor can handle up to 76hz (164.81MHz), going black at 77hz (164.96MHz).

In LCD Standard (174.57MHz) and LCD Native (185.63MHz) the screen becomes extremely blurry even at 75hz.

I've tried messing around with Range limits, increasing Max pixel clock to 190MHz (it was 170MHz originally), but the screen is still blurry.

From what I understand, LCD Reduced forces my GPU to run at 400MHz/1200MHz all the time, that's why I'm trying to achieve 75hz in LCD Standard or Native.

Is this a hardware limitation, or did I setup something wrong?

Custom Resolutions on 2160p monitor

Hi all.
I am new on this forum, so nice to meet you.

I have a monitor ASUS MX27UC that is 2160p and i am happy with that.
I am using ASUS 1080ti GPU.

I am playing games on 60fps (usually) at 2160p resolution.

I have tried to OC my monitor and the maximum i get to work is 70hz.

The problem is that V-SYNC seems not to work correctly. i have tried for example on 62hz and i see something like stutterings or frame skipping on 62fps . it is actually bad on my eyes.
(i am testing on Battlefield and i see my fps (using Rivatuner) stucked at 62fps). At the options of the game it also recognise as 2160p/62hz the monitor.

So it seems that everything works perfect but it the result is bad.

The reason that i want to Overclock my monitor is to play games at 70fps (when the gpu can handle it). Also i have an idea to underclock at 54hz or 56hz for the same reason. So the games are smoother at 56fps/V-Sync.

Any help?

I have recently bought Dell P2417H Monitor and there is a red stuck pixel in the left corner that i could not get rid off. I have tried all the pixel fixing softwares and even applied some pressure to it manually but it is still there. Does anyone have any better idea on how to get rid of it? Thanks

LG 24MP59G problem setting refresh rate

$

Hello,

I own a 24MP59G monitor and have always wanted to have LFC which unfortunately it does not support.
I've been trying to follow this tutorial to lower my Freesync minimum refresh rate from 40 Hz to something like 35, (I've seen a few people post they can get 33-76 and they claim it makes LFC work on this exact model), however when following step 4 (create a custom resolution with your desired refresh rate on Radeon Settings, then apply the resolution in Windows settings) I get an Out of Range error on my monitor (no biggie, I understand that I just may have been unlucky and my particular monitor is not underclockable) however I tried to set a refresh rate to a value inside my Freesync range (40-75 Hz) and I still get the error, basically anything below 48 Hz will give me such errror, which I find weird because it is my understanding that I should be able to at least set it to 40 Hz since it is the advertised refresh rate for my monitor.

I'm using the HDMI cable that came with my monitor (which does support Freesync and is the same one that people that have got this to work report using), I do have a DP cable lying around but it's a piece of crap that can't even report 75 Hz on Windows when I connect it. I also tried both enabling and disabling Freesync, VSR, HDMI link assurance, etc.

I find this very weird, maybe I'm missing something, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDID override with CRU seems not to be working ?

Hey folks Smile

I am using Windows 10 with two displays connected both with displayport 1.2.
I was frustrated about that If I am turning off my monitor that all my windows moving around (mostly to primary display).
I have read EDID override is a workaround for that and found CRU tool here but it seems that CRU wont work for me ?

I have done the following:
1. Downloaded CRU.
2. Followed these instructions (I did it for both displays same way):
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic...2/#5190822
3. I added these (I have a g-sync monitor): Clicked on "Edit..." next to the displays drop down menu at the top and setup the right refresh rates for both display and had activate "include if slot available under range limits.
4. Clicked ok to close CRU and executed restart64.exe (no errors and all is working fine till now).
5. Restarted windows 10 - just to be sure Wink

But then I had tested it: disabled second monitor and again... All opened windows on second monitor was moved to primary display after I re-enabled my second monitor :'(

Some info:
Windows 10 Pro (1803 - all newest updates installed) x64
NVIDIA GTX 1070 (single card)
Nvidia driver version: 417.35 (newest)
CRU version: 1.4.1

Is there something wrong or misunderstood ? Hope someone can help me out, its really frustrating :/

greetings Smile

EDIT: With this steps above I dont see any youtube videos - I hear audio but video itself is only black (I have gpu acceleration enabled).
What I have to do in CRU to watch youtube properly again with gpu acceleration enabled ?

EDID help please

Hello,

i have an EDID issue that no one else seems to be able to help with.
I figured the people here would be most knowledgeable about it.

The issue:
I have an audio extractor and it works fine without a monitor attached..

PC hdmi > Audio extractor > panasonic reciever (toslink or rca) "this works fine."
Audio device is detected as "lontium"

however if i go
PC hdmi> Audio extractor > panasonic reciever
-----------------|--------- > DVI monitor

It detects the dvi monitor edid data and then there is no audio device..

I have tried to edit the EDID data. using hex editor and moninfo..
When i open the inf or bin file with monifo it does show that there are hdmi outputs available in the inf file. But after installing it and checking moninfo "registry active" there are no hdmi options available there...

here is the inf file as i have it now.

if you would need the bin files for the monitor data as standard and the lontium, fake monitor i can supply those.

If at all possible all i want to do is have the EDID data report that my monitor is connected via hdmi and it has audio output "stereo is all that is needed"
I think i can get the audio out of the extractor provided the pc sends it

some added info that MAY be important..
The hdmi connection is coming from my igpu on the intel i7 2600. i am running windows 10. My main display is connected to a gtx 970.

this is how i want it set up if at all possible. I am not certain that the windows 7 i7 2600 drivers support edid override (there are no windows 10 drivers for sandy bridge or older) But having said that i am able to override resolutions and refresh rates.

thank you in advanced for any help you can give.

p.s

i have been trying to register for a while now but the verification email would never send. I decided to just try again today and Finally the verification email was sent so here i am..

AMD FirePro W4100, HDMI, Dell U2711, Help achieving full resolution with CRU

$

I have three Dell U2711 monitors connected to my computer, but one has some issues and doesn't run at full resolution for some reason (more information here: https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/...#M119150). In particular there are issues with the DisplayPort input, so I am trying to use it with HDMI at full resolution, and I've just tried to use CRU to achieve that, but couldn't get the 2560x1440 resolution to show up in the display settings.

So could someone please guide me to use CRU correctly with the right settings to work with my computer? I did find this page: https://paste.jvnv.net/full/jk1zX with some settings to try, but still no luck. Let me know if you need more information.

Gsync (or Freesync) over HDMI on Nvidia Cards with CRU

$

Hi,

I wanted to start this thread to ask other forum members if there is a possibility to make Gsync (now supporting Freesync) work over HDMI (it's only supported over DisplayPort for now).

Hope some experimented CRU users could somehow make this work using Custom Resolution Utility (CRU).

Regards,

Aristides.

Finding driver model for LGD052F

$

I wanted to overclock my laptop display (LG052F panel according to device manager and the internet) and I want to know what driver the monitor has to see if I can overclock it. (Or enable FreeSync if it can be forced). I am not that familiar with CRU (OCed it to 61 Hz (lame I know) but I am afraid I'm gonna screw it up. I just want to know if the driver was used in a different panel with better specifications.

Out of Range on screen but screen still works?

$

I'm having issues with a monitor where if I push the Hz over 75 on any resolution, there appears a blue box in the middle of the screen saying

"Out of Range"

But I can still see everything except what the box ubstructs.

I can go do the ufo framerate test, and it shows I'm doing 80hz, and I don't have any frame skipping with the frame skip test.

I'm using DVI-D into a Saphire R9 290 tri-x.

My question is, is there a way to make the screen not display this?

It works fine otherwise, and 75hz is all well and good, but it'd be sweet if ther was a fix for something like this.

I poked around and made a new EDID and stuff, but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

The monitor is an Envision G918w1 @ 1440 x 900.

I will add a picture here shortly, I need to find my phone to take a pictgure of it, because obviously a screencap doesnt grab that shit.

Its possible using CRU to make believe my TV HDMI ports act like Displayport

I am trying to figure out, maybe making think your TV HDMI ports act like Displayport for Windows 10 to recognize them as such. That way, maybe we can sort out and make Gsync Freesync work over HDMI.

Or i am getting the wrong way?

Regards,

Aris
