Can't output native 2560*1600 60hz?

$

Hello,
I just bought a second hand hp zr30w (2560*1600 60hz 10bit)
and would like to drive it with my laptop with these specs->
Z710 Lenovo IdeaPad
Vga cards-> Intel 4600/Nvidia 840m

The problem is that the laptop only has HDMI/d-sub output and the monitor only has dvi dual link and display port inputs.

I bought a cheap adapter dvi dual link to hdmi and that works with resolutions up to 1280*800 on my zr30w.

Is there a way to make it work?Do I need to buy something else?

Some more information->
A)I tried the adapter on 2k screens and works ok.
B)I have hooked up 2k monitors with the HDMI output of the z710 and work ok
C)I suspsect that the zr30w only accepts 2560*1600 60hz, anything else (2k resolution/2560*1600 30hz etc will not work)
D)The zr30w works just fine in native resolution with display port.

Thank you in advance!

Hello, first post as i have just joined. I had a look at overclocking the laptop screen with cru and i must have tried 20 times when it arrived but nothing i did seemed to work every custom res i set was missing after a full restart, i transfered my os to nvme and thought i would try again and it runs at 80hz without fault so thinking it was working i set new values but after applying the settings in the same way i still only have the old values, can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?
I was told this screen can go up to 120hz and id like to find out since i was already looking around for a new 120hz screen.

Framerate locks to 30fps with vsync enabled in eyefinity

Dell 24" U2412M
HP Omen 32" Freesync (main display)
Dell 24" U2412M

My framerates are locked to 30fps when vsync is enabled, vsync off and its well over 100fps.

before it was working fine on my r9 290x... DVI - Displayport - DVI
I upgraded to a vega and having no DVI I used 3 Displayports.

Heres the thing if I change the main display to one of the Dells it seems to work fine, a solid 60fps, smooth gameplay etc.. but there is 1 single tear line across the Omen which I cant get rid off.

Would the Omen be sending a rate/timing and the Dells cant keep up and it slighty drops under 60fps causing the fps to cap to 30?

Ive tried different driver versions. changed lots of settings in AMD settings,
reinstalled windows 7 etc..

I played around with CRU but getting nowhere. heres a pic of my default settings in CRU

This user had the same problem but I cant get the horizontal/vertical totals and the refresh rate exactly the same as when I change a value it auto changes the other

60hz on 75hz monitor

Sorry if my english isn't perfect.

I bought AOC 22V2Q and it is 75hz 5ms monitor IPS. It is quite nice for this price (that's what they say) but i am disappointed about one thing. While i try to play games on 60hz the movement is a bit ... how to say .. blurry or slower despite stable 60fps.

I was using for years LG TN monitor what was 75hz and 5ms too but i was using it as 60hz and i haven't noticed any problems like that.

on AOC as 75hz is all ok but sometimes i need to play on 60hz because i can't get stable 75fps. I use also gtx 970 windforce 3 and it is plugged by displayport.

why is this problem? isn't 5ms meaning same for both TN and IPS? How could i fix this problem? Is it possible to use AOC as 60hz without problem?

In Win10 1607 games doesn't see 60.00hz, only 59.94hz. BenQ EW277HDR

Hello, guys. I'm looking for a help with a strange problem with detecting the refresh rate of my monitor by games. First of all, I have three different installed builds of Windows 10: 1607, 1709 and 1803. And problem presents ONLY in 1607 (aka AnniversaryUpdate of Win10).
So here it is. Native refresh rate of my Benq EW277HDR is 60.00Hz. At least I believe that its native. Ofc, I checked actual numbers of the refreshrate at vsynctester.com and testufo.com. It is aprox 60.00077Hz. This is what Windows10 call 60hz for me in the refresh rate list options (nvidia options as well). There is another mode in that list called 59Hz, that actually equals 59.94Hz (proved by tests as well). All of those three builds of Windows 10 have these two modes. CRU shows identical parameters as well, in which I have only ONE 'Detailed resolution' with 1920x1080@60.000Hz.
In 1709 & 1803 of Win10, I have a choice between 59.94 and 60.00 Hz in the game options. But in 1607 Win10, once I launch a game, only 59.94 is available. I tried to change nvidia drivers - no luck. Found advice to delete TV resolutions from CRU > Extension blocks - no result, 59.94 is still in place in games, while Win10 1607 itself works at 60.00Hz.
Any thoughts how do possibly fix it, please?!

Noob here: Can I tweak my system you think?

Hi,

Just found this forum and topic, it is very exciting to read about all of these deep tech stuff. Smile

So first question:
IF I'm using DisplayPort with RTX 2080 could/should I use the PixelClock Patcher? Would that give me some advantage/speed up?

Second: Could I tweak my PG348Q Asus monitor from 100Hz to be faster with tweaking the speed of the pixel clock? Or on Display Port this wouldn't do anything?

Thanks in advance.

A couple years ago (a long time i know) i was gaming and then started getting fps drops, so i hit the reset button and a flash went off in my case followed by a smell, and when it got into windows everything had become slightly blurry

After this i reformatted and tried some other stuff, then ended up building a new pc and even that was blurry which made no sense to me

Luckily i have a couple old screenshots from my old rig of how things used to output and i made this comparison photo of some taskbar icons but it affects everything including games

https://i.imgur.com/4HLMqSf.png
https://i.imgur.com/lN4o5xA.png

The quality now is just really bad, it looks like the color and intensity of each pixel is now alot dimmer than before and even the taskbar background color is pixelated, kind of like the whole computer putting out the screen image as a compressed .jpg instead of a .bmp is the best way i can explain it

Problems with overclocking monitor Hz

Greetings!

Such a problem, there is a laptop HP Omen15 with a built-in video card (Intel UHD 630) and a discrete (GTX 1050Ti).

The integrated graphics card is locked at 40 and 60Hz. When I try to change the Hz from the Intel Control Panel, I get an error - "the user resolution exceeds the bandwidth".

Then i try CRU, leave the resolution at 1920x1080 and set at 75Hz. Nothing changes, 75Hz do not appear in the monitor settings either.

After rebooting the laptop, the screen gives out just a black screen, you have to go into safe mode or connect via HDMI.

On my old laptop Lenovo Y500 with GTX650M, with a damaged matrix cable, I clocked up to 107Hz without problems, after 108 artifacts appeared.

As I understand it, at OMEN is prevented by some kind of blocking from UHD Graphics.

Help me please.

P.S.
(sorry for my eng.)

Native resolution 2560*1440p not available

Hello,

I just bought a new 23.8 inch LCD display (pnp ID: AMT2380), with native resolution 2560*1440p 60Hz and one VGA, one display port and one HDMI slot.

The strange thing is that on my windows 10 desktop PC with a Nvidia GeForce 405 card (512M memory, VGA and HDMI slot), it can only use 1980*1080p as the highest resolution with HDMI connection (VGA connection even lower).

I replaced the Nvidia card with an AMD ATI 7670 on the windows 10 desktop PC, it still worked on 1980*1080p.

I connected this LCD display to my macbook pro with HDMI line, it worked on native resolution perfectly.

I connected it to another windows laptop with HDMI line, it also worked on native resolution well.

I checked EDID of this LCD display, and got "Native/preferred timing.. 2560x1440p at 60Hz (16:9)".

I tried CRU 1.4.1,the application showed resolution 2560*1440p available, but it didn't work after restart display card.

Can anyone give me a clue on this? Thanks a lot.

p.s. I attached the exported EDID data file in this thread for reference.

Forcing 4:2:0 over 4:2:2? Possible nvidia issue.

Hey all, I just got a new TV which I decided to hook up to my computer, and man is it giving me a lot of trouble I've never had before.

I managed to figure out most things by myself, using this forum as a guide, but I'm afraid I've just hit an impasse, and I need help.

Basically, I would like to use 4:2:0 over 4:2:2 (because multiple games exhibit worse banding in 4:2:2), but can't seem to do so. I'm using HDMI 2.0, so the best I can currently do is run at 4k60 HDR 4:2:2 10bit. The problem is that whenever I try to set the nvidia control panel to use 4:2:0, it reverts back to 4:2:2 immediately because I am missing the setting for 10bit in 4:2:0. If I set the bpc back to 8 bit, then I can change to 4:2:0 (and it sticks), but then I only get the choice of staying at 8bit, or going to 12bit (which is too much for the cable, and the screen turns purple).

Technically, it seems like it should be possible, but I can't figure it out. I found this forum, and the CRU utility, but I'm not afraid to say that I'm not understanding it fully at the moment.

Any ideas? All help is greatly appreciated.

Strange Issue - first time user

Hi,

Sorry for typing this fast but im really scared. I run windows 10 on my macbook pro through bootcamp so I can play fortnite. I wanted to try stretched resolution so downloaded CRU and attempted to create a custom resolution. I followed a guide I found on youtube to the letter. The monitors normal resolution is 2880x1800, and I wanted to create a 1444x1080 resolution. After doing so and restarting, only half of my screen showed anything, the part of the screen that had picture was flickering and I had a patch of like static in the centre of the screen.

This terrified me, this laptop was bought for me as a gift and is the most expensive thing I have ever owned. So I saw the restart/reset application in the CRU file and used it, and restarted. Now the resolution is back to normal but there is still a flicker in the top half of the screen, and where the static was there is like a watermark behind the picture being displayed.

The scary thing about this is that in both windows and mac OS this flickering and water mark appears.

Any suggestions welcome, please help me return it to normal, i dont know what else to do.

Thanks

Multiple Displays Through Dock

I have a laptop with Intel 620 graphics trying to run 2 1440p monitors through a thunderbolt 3 dock. I have run into an issue where one of the external monitors is detected and working correctly, while the other shows an active signal resolution of 1280 x 800. I found this thread describing the same issue, but there is no true fix found other than changing the active signal resolution in the display adapter properties, then selecting the appropriate resolution under list modes. Unfortunately, 1440p is not listed as an option for the one display. I hoped CRU would be able to override this, but it saw both monitors as 1440p, and I saw no place to modify active signal resolution. This is happening both on my Lenovo T480 and my Razer Blade Stealth using this Lenovo Dock. I have attached a screen shot of the display settings, as well as the .bins from the working and not working external monitors. Is there some way to override the active signal resolution to add my resolutions in?
